Count Down
The noise hums
Loud in my ears
I try to cover it
Force it down
But the sound intrudes my consciousness again
Over and over
The sound grows loud
I try harder
to seek out the silence
yet I hear more sound
The shriek becomes louder still
( I must escape )
Forward I run
Footsteps hollow as I tread
The noise still resonates
An unbearable echo in my head
Flying forward
I fall through glass
I hear it no more.
