Poetry from Ireland #3

Adventureland
Giants Causeway

Wind in my hair
earth under my feet
stepping forward

crawl, scratch, leap

Piles and piles of rocks ahead
brown and speckled
nestled on a water bed

Reach upward
pull myself higher

Climbing, climbing,
up, up, up

I feel the stares
questioning my actions

But I
keep going
uncaring
yet knowing

I look like that crazy girl
wandering off
in her own world

I, venture to
a place where no one else dares to be
the peak of the rocks, taking in the scene

I smile
breathe in the air
take a picture
and gaze out at the sea,

lost in a view
That only belongs to me.
